QingXun Nutrition — where youth leaves its mark, and health can be found.
A life-science nutrition site run by A Xun (Jia Ge), certified public nutritionist and health manager, focused on sub-health conditioning. Through the lens of evolutionary biology and evidence-based thinking, it shares knowledge on nutrition, sub-health care and prevention.
1 The Name: Why QingXun?
Everyone spends life searching for something. Some search for love, some for dreams. What I keep searching for is how to make people healthier.
Qing means youth and evergreen; Xun means seeking and exploring. I like the name A Xun: curiosity, persistence, always moving forward — with no finish line.
Hello, I am A Xun, a public nutritionist and health manager. You can call me A Xun, or Teacher A Xun.
2 My Philosophy: Evolutionary Nutrition
2.1 Why look at health through evolution?
Evolution answers two fundamental questions: where did we come from, and why is our body designed the way it is?
Think of a car: only by understanding its structure and history can you use and maintain it well. The same goes for the human body. If there were a user manual for the body, evolution would be the language it is written in.
2.2 Instincts written in our genes
Almost everyone is born wary of snakes. In ancient times, those who stayed alert to snakes survived — and passed that alertness down to us, generation after generation.
2.3 Many chronic diseases are evolutionary mismatches
Take obesity. Our bodies evolved to store every bit of surplus energy as fat against famine. That ability once saved our ancestors; in an age of abundance, it makes us gain weight.
Or myopia. Our eyes were designed for the outdoors, for spotting prey and danger at a distance. Modern life surrounds them with screens at close range for hours — and myopia follows.
Society changes in decades; the body evolves over millennia. We live modern lives with stone-age bodies. Obesity, myopia, hypertension — many chronic conditions find deeper answers in this view.
3 What Nutrition Did for Me and My Family
3.1 It changed me first
I am not old, but sub-health problems came early. Years of street dancing damaged the meniscus in my right knee; later, long hours at a desk brought neck strain, mouse hand, a growing belly and thinning hair.
Through systematic nutrition and lifestyle changes, my knee recovered enough that I run 3 km again — sometimes even finishing with a sprint. The belly slimmed down, and my hair slowly regained its shine.
I often say: I am the first beneficiary of nutrition.
3.2 It changed my family too
My father smoked and drank for years. A checkup at a top hospital found his blood pressure near 190 — the monitor struggled to read it, and the nurses were stunned.
Instead of chasing the number, we looked for the root cause: less alcohol, lighter but nutritious meals, and medication under medical guidance. His pressure came down step by step, and the dosage was gradually reduced by his doctor.
This convinced me: with chronic disease, follow the vine back to the root instead of staring at the readings.
4 My Principles
4.1 Pragmatism over camps
Nutrition has many schools, and each has something worth learning. I take what works and judge by one simple standard: is it good for health overall? Practice brings real knowledge — start from reality, and from results.
Nutrition is also gentle. As long as health is not at risk, give an approach three months or half a year. The results will speak for themselves.
4.2 Health management and medicine: a relay, not a rivalry
An old Chinese saying goes: the best doctor treats disease before it forms. Health management works before illness, through lifestyle and nutrition; medicine takes over once illness is real. The two complement each other — they do not compete.
Why do so many chronic diseases keep coming back? Because the root cause is lifestyle. Remove the root early, and people stay healthier, happier, and need far less medical care.
Healing the body starts with healing the mind. Caring for both — inside and out — is what complete health means.
4.3 Great truths are simple
I believe the smallest daily things carry the same logic as health.
The toothbrushing theory
No one says they will persist in brushing their teeth — it is simply a habit. Health is the same: you cannot brush for a week and expect clean teeth for a month. There are no shortcuts; if there is one, it is turning care into habit.
The car maintenance theory
A car maintained from day one lasts for decades. A body cared for while young is very likely to live longer and healthier.
The essence of weight loss
When you pursue health — good food, movement, sleep and mood — getting lean arrives as a natural side effect. Health is the real goal; weight loss should be a healthy way of living, not neglect of the body.
5 For Teenagers
In classrooms today, too many children wear thick glasses at a very young age — and it genuinely hurts to see.
Vision and growth both depend on nutrition: vitamin A, lutein and DHA for developing eyes; quality protein, calcium, vitamin D and zinc as the raw materials of growing taller. Sugary drinks and snacks bring excess calories with too little nutrition — a hidden driver of myopia and slowed growth.
This site keeps sharing knowledge on teen growth nutrition and myopia prevention, helping more children grow up healthy.
6 Free and Paid
This site will keep publishing knowledge on nutrition and health management. All public articles and tools are free — if even one piece helps you, I am truly grateful.
My time and energy are limited, so I also offer paid one-on-one services: reserving my limited time for those who truly need it, to protect the quality of delivery.
Psychologically, people only value what they have paid for. I once shared this knowledge freely with friends, and most gave up within days. If you are genuinely troubled by sub-health issues and want serious, dedicated support, a paid consultation is worth a try.
